CSO Network
A Civil Society Organisations Network consisting of
organisations involved with journalism, media
organizations, public/civic communication, and citizens’ media
initiatives, pan-European as well as from each
country, will be integrated into the project. The CSO network will
enable CSOs and SMEs (through their
associations) to participate actively in the research process and
provide input
from their perspectives as media users, producers and participants.
The
project will bring them together in order to enhance their European
networking and strengthen their positions in the public sphere and in
the European media
market, which is especially important to media-related CSOs and
associations of small and medium sized media
enterprises. The CSO-network will enlarge the dissemination of the
research results into political discussions on
national as well as European levels and contribute to the case studies.
The CSOs and SME-associations will be
invited to the yearly conferences to exchange views, learn from each
others’ experiences, identify best practice
examples and enhance discussion and networking with the researchers as
well as among the CSOs themselves.
Moreover, they will be able to disseminate and gather information from
the PLUS Internet platform and use the
interactive elements for exchange of views and discussions. The
E-Learning material produced within PLUS will
help CSOs to strengthen awareness of problems of press freedom and
pluralism as well as the commitment to
related questions among their members and target groups.
