Prof. Dr. Ingrid Schulze Schneider has taken a doctoral
degree in Information Sciences and is professor at the Department
History of Social Communication at the Information Sciences Faculty of
the University Complutense in Madrid She has been the Director of this
Department for eight years from 2000 to 2008. Schulze Schneider is a
specialist in the subjects History of Social Communication, History of
International Journalism and Propaganda History. She has published seven books, thirty book contributions and more than thirty articles in national and international publications on topics belonging to these areas, dedicating special attention to the relationship between Spain and Germany in the 19th and 20th century. Recent books are: La prensa político-militar en el reinado de Alfonso XIII , 2003; Spanische Medienkultur, gestern und heute 2005; La leyenda negra de España. Propaganda en la Guerra de Flandes (1566-1584), 2008. Another important work is the chapter La prensa escrita en los principales países occidentales en el siglo XX, (The printed press in the main western countries in the 20th century) published in the manual Historia del Periodismo Universal, (Story of the Universal Journalism) Barcelona, 2004. This chapter covers more than one hundred pages, offering a complete analysis of the development of the press in Europe and the United States of America in the 20th century. Ingrid Schulze Schneider has presented more than 35 papers at national and international Conferences. She has also taken part in four research projects assigned to the Department and has directed so far five doctoral theses and thirteen Master’s theses. |
